The Step is to go up and down to a platform (of the same name) at a moderate pace, allowing aerobic work in a range that offers cardiovascular benefits.

It is a work of high intensity but low-impact, but also can be combined with high-impact exercises. The Step provides an extra challenge to the athlete, both in terms of aerobic capacity, as in muscle strength and endurance.
